Genetics: The Blueprint of Life :
Genetics is a major cornerstone of the larger field of biology. Genetics is the science of genes and tries to explain what they are and how they work. How living organisms inherit features from their ancestors. Genetics tries to identify which features are inherited and explain how these features are passed from generation to generation. Humans began applying knowledge of genetics since history, with the domestication and breeding of plants and animals.
People who study Genetics do so in a wide variety of situations from research laboratories to pharmaceutical companies and new breakthroughs in this field are consistently being made. In modern research, genetics are function of a particular gene, e.g. analysis of genetic information generally is carried in chromosomes, where it is represented in the chemical structure of particular DNA molecules. |
